Alkaline substances are found on the higher end (with drain cleaner topping the alkaline side of the scale at a "10").

Neutral pH is found right around 7.0 and is the pH of pure water.

Your body pH needs to be right around 7.4 (slightly alkaline) in order to stay healthy.

This means your pH needs to be slightly alkaline in order to maintain good health.

Let's look at why this is the case.

 

Acidic pH, Disease and You *



Most of our modern diets contain foods that are acid-forming.

This means that the foods we eat, in large part, drive our pH levels below our 7.4 pH balancing point.

Examples of common acid forming foods and drink include:

  • White flour containing foods 
  • Most noodles 
  • Refined bread 
  • Sodas 
  • Alcohol (particularly spirits) 
  • Coffee and tea
