Master Cleanse Basics:
When Life Hands You Lemons--Make A Healthy Liver Cleansing Drink!
Simple, tasty and effective. This is a quick energy drink that can help you maintain or lose extra weight.
Here's how it works...
Good drink to know about if you want to:
- Lose weight
- Boost your energy during the day
- Avoid feeling sluggish after meals.
- Like to replace a meal now and again with a beverage
Maybe you've heard of the Master Cleanse Diet?
In recent years, many celebrities (such as Beyonce, Robin Quivers and Jared Leto) have used the Master Cleanse
Diet to shed extra weight.
Dr. Oz even speaks highly of the Master Cleanse Diet. He claims it is a great way to start a weight loss
program, because people who start losing weight by detoxifying tend to to do better in the long run.
There's more to the diet plan than just the "drink"--so if you're curious about the entire program you can
discover for yourself...plus you can read what Dr. Oz says:

Making the Drink
What I want to share with you is the basic recipe for making the Master Cleanse-like lemonade drink that is the
staple of the "diet".
The idea here is that by mixing together pure maple syrup (or agave syrup), cayenne pepper, freshly squeezed
lemon juice, a pinch of sea salt and water--you can create a healthy tasty drink that can help you:
- Cleanse your liver and boost your metabolism (cayenne and lemon)
- Flush accumulated toxins and help you lose weight (lemon and cayenne)
- Clear up skin for a clear, blemish free complexion (lemon)
- Helps maintain blood sugar and electrolytes (sea salt and maple syrup)
Here's how you make the drink:
- Get a large glass container (36 ounce capacity)
- Add 2 Tablespoons of pure maple syrup--no fake syrup here, please
- Add the freshly squeezed juice of one lemon
- Add a small pinch of sea salt
- Add 1/8-1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper powder
- Shake or stir to mix ingredients
- Fill container with water and a few ice cubes (optional)
- Drink this throughout the day
You can make as much of this mixture as you can drink in a day. Usually, you'll go through two to four jars of
this mixture if you are strictly drinking this (as the diet suggests you do) in place of food.
If you are just replacing a meal with this, I like to have a jar of this for my breakfast and even lunch, with a
bit of fruit during the day...then I'll eat a light protein meal (like a big green salad with a grilled salmon
fillet) for dinner.
You can mix and match as you see fit.
I haven't done the Master Cleanse hardcore...I've just dabbled with this lemonade drink--because it's tasty and
simple to make.

Whether you do the whole program, or just enjoy the drink...summer and fall are great seasons to add this lemonade
drink to your routine. Try it. I think you'll like it.
Sure beats the pants off of soda, in my book.
