Helpful tips to get rid of headaches, fast!
What follows are tips that have been shown to help some people relieve their headache pain, without the use of over-the-counter drugs or prescription medications. Persistent headaches may indicate a serious health condition, and require you to see a physician. However, if you are experiecing mild, occassional headaches, these tips may prove beneficial to you. Use your own discretion!
1. Drink more water to prevent headaches! As simple as this sounds, many people complaining of low-grade, dull-pain headaches are simply not drinking enough water, and are experiencing the effects of dehydration. To remedy this situation, be sure to consume approximately 6-8 (eight ounce) glasses of water each day. This number is approximate, and you'll need to adjust according to your activity level and so on.
If you are suffering headaches from lack of water, increasing your water intake may prove helpful in decreasing your headaches, and will produce results within 30 minutes..
2. The banana peel remedy for headaches! As odd as this one sounds, many people swear that it works for them. Give it a try and see how it does for you....you'll need one banana for this.
- Peel one banana, dividing the peel into two equal pieces, as best you can. You can eat or save the fruit. You should have two equally sized pieces of banana peel.
- Next, place one of the banana peels across the back of your neck, with the fruit-side of the peel placed against your skin.
- Lastly, place the remaining peel across your forehead and temples--again, fruit-side of the peel is in contact with your skin.
- You can now lie down and relax for 10-15 minutes--and wait for your headache to disappear.
